Waterpik Flosser

Using the Waterpik flosser is by far the best way to maintain the health of your gums and implicitly of your teeth. This fact is confirmed by both the science behind the machine, dentists and most importantly by everyday users such as me and my friends. I have already talked about the experiment I conducted with a few of my friends on a few versions of the Waterpik but didn’t really have the chance to go in to an in-depth explanation of what is exactly the Waterpik flosser and how does it work.

The principal behind the way the Waterpik flosser works is actually rather simple and elegant. The machine consists of a water basin and a water pump that forces the water through a very small tube so that pressure has the strongest impact without actually being dangerous to the body. In the Waterpik Ultra you can control 10 different levels of water intensity which is why it is also the best version of the machine because it allows you to fine tune the maximum level of water pressure you can handle and then gradually work your way up from there. Another great feature of the Waterpik Ultra is that it comes with 6 different heads, which is the maximum amount for this device, so that you can floss, floss with extra precision the hidden areas in your mouth, clean your tongue, clean a retainer whether it is permanently attached or removable, the plaque seeker tip which is great for implants, crowns and bridges, and the toothbrush tip which can be safely used instead of your regular toothbrush making the Waterpik Flosser the only device you will ever need for oral hygiene.

There is also a second Waterpik Floser model which is great for use on trips or for the children because it is much smaller and easier to handle. I don’t travel as much but I do have a lot of experience with it because I have bought one for my daughter and so I got the chance to look it over. For her small mouth and inpatient way of flossing half of the recipient is more than enough. Being a handheld device it is great because you can maneuver it much more comfortably but it does have the disadvantage that the water can run out on you a lot faster and you need to remember to charge it anywhere between once a week to once a month depending on how often you actually use it. With it you get the same heads as you did with the bigger Waterpik Ultra except for the toothbrush and the high precision Waterpik flosser tip.

The last Waterpik flosser model I have experienced and that I think you need to consider is the Waterpik Whitening Flosser. It comes with a set of 15 mint flavored, whitening heads that do the same job as the classic Jet Tip end except that they also leave a very nice minty aftertaste and have a great effect on whitening your teeth. I personally have chosen to use the Waterpik Ultra because I do like to take my time while flossing and because I like the level of white I have attained using the 15 whitening tips. As far as I can see I think that they can fit on my Ultra so in a couple of years I think I am going to buy just the whitening tips and use them again. Until then I am very happy to have my Waterpik flosser that keeps my teeth in perfect health.
